Why We Repeat the Core Practices
This retreat is not about collecting as many techniques as possible. It is about learning a few powerful practices well enough to make them your own.
During the eight-day program, the three core morning practices are intentionally repeated. The first time, you discover them. The second time, you understand them differently, refine the details and allow your body to become more familiar with them.
Repetition creates an opportunity to move from simply following instructions toward practising with greater confidence, awareness and independence.
Because a practice you experience once can inspire you. A practice you learn can stay with you for life.

Arrival and Transfer
Check in and take time to rest after your journey.
The first day is intentionally gentle. There is nothing to achieve and nowhere to rush. It is time to leave the pace of everyday life behind and gradually settle into the slower rhythm of the retreat.
Opening Circle
Meet the group, discover the philosophy behind the retreat, explore the eight-day journey ahead and ask any questions you may have.
Sunset Practice
Your first evening combines meditation, gentle body-based movement and sound relaxation.
The intention is simple: slow down, release the journey and create the conditions for deeper rest and recovery.
Dinner and Free Time
Enjoy dinner together, unwind and allow yourself to arrive fully.

07:00 • Joint Mobility & Awakening Flow
We begin the first full day with an accessible whole-body mobility practice inspired by Sukshma Vyayama, the subtle joint and movement practices of classical yoga.
Gentle movements progressively awaken the major joints, mobilize the spine and reconnect attention with the body.
This is why we begin here.
Before asking the body to do more, we first restore movement. Before introducing more intensive practices, we create mobility, circulation and awareness.
The practice is adaptable to different ages and fitness levels and provides a foundation for everything that follows during the retreat.
08:00 • Sound Relaxation & Meditation
After movement comes stillness.
Lie down, close your eyes and allow the sounds and vibrations of singing bowls, gongs and other acoustic instruments to create a space for deep relaxation and inward attention.
08:30 • Breakfast
A nourishing breakfast followed by time to relax.
10:00 • Workshop: Meditation Made Simple
Meditation does not require stopping your thoughts.
This practical workshop explores what meditation actually is, why there are so many different approaches and how to find techniques that work for you.
You will experience several fundamental methods and learn simple principles that make meditation easier to integrate into everyday life.
Daytime • Nature, Culture & Personal Time
Depending on the destination and the day, afternoons may include nature walks, cultural discoveries, mindful experiences and visits to carefully selected local places.
There is also space for personal relaxation and simply doing nothing.
18:00 • Sunset Restoration Practice
Meditation, gentle body-based movement and sound create a transition from activity into rest and help you close the day with greater calm and awareness.
Evening
Dinner, meaningful conversations, relaxed group activities or quiet personal time.

07:00 • Shaolin Yi Jin Jing Qigong
The morning begins with Yi Jin Jing, one of the classical systems associated with the Shaolin tradition.
Its name is commonly translated as Muscle and Tendon Transformation.
Through slow, coordinated movements, postures and breathing, the practice works with mobility, strength, balance, coordination and whole-body awareness.
Rather than relying on speed or physical intensity, Yi Jin Jing develops controlled movement and a deeper connection between attention, breath and body.
The practice has been transmitted through generations and remains an important part of traditional Chinese health and movement culture.
During the retreat, we approach it not as something mystical, but as a sophisticated movement practice that can be adapted to modern life.
08:00 • Sound Relaxation & Meditation
A period of stillness and sound allows the body to settle after Qigong and prepares the mind for the day ahead.

10:00 • Workshop: The Taste of Life Method
Why can something as simple as changing your breath, movement or attention change the way you feel?
This workshop introduces the five interconnected elements of the Taste of Life Method:
Sound • Breath • Movement • Awareness • Aliveness
You will explore how these elements influence your physical and mental state and, most importantly, how to begin using them consciously.
The goal is not to depend on a teacher or retreat.
It is to understand your own tools.
Daytime • Nature, Culture & Personal Time
Nature and cultural excursions, mindful walking, personal relaxation or free time depending on the destination and conditions.

07:00 • Vinyasa Yoga Flow
Today we connect breath and movement through an accessible Vinyasa practice based around the classical Sun Salutation.
Movement follows the rhythm of breathing, creating a continuous flow that develops mobility, coordination, body awareness and gentle strength.
Rather than focusing on complicated poses, the practice teaches something more useful: how breath can organize movement and how movement can influence your state.
Different variations make the session accessible to different levels of experience.

10:00 • Workshop: Your Nervous System Toolkit
One of the most practical workshops of the retreat.
Our emotional and physiological states constantly influence our breathing, posture, facial expression, muscle tone and voice.
But this relationship also works in the opposite direction.
By consciously changing some of these signals, we can influence how we feel.
Through practical exercises, we explore breathing patterns, extended exhalation, sound, facial and body techniques, sensory awareness and the principles of biofeedback.
The objective is not simply to understand the nervous system.
It is to leave with simple tools you can actually use when you need to calm down, regain focus, release tension or change your state.

07:00 • Joint Mobility & Awakening Flow
Today we return to the Joint Mobility & Awakening Flow introduced on Day 2.
The repetition is intentional.
With the movements already familiar, there is less need to think about what comes next and more opportunity to notice how the body moves, where tension remains and how breath and attention can improve the quality of movement.
The same practice begins to feel different when the body already knows the way.
08:00 • Sound Relaxation & Meditation
Movement is followed by stillness, allowing the body and mind to settle through sound and meditation.
08:30 • Breakfast
10:00 • Workshop: Meditation in Everyday Life
We return to meditation with a more practical question: how can you actually make it part of everyday life?
We explore how to choose a technique for different situations, how long to practise, how to work with distraction and how to create a simple personal meditation routine you can realistically continue at home.
The goal is not to meditate perfectly. It is to make meditation useful, accessible and sustainable.
Daytime • Nature, Culture & Personal Time
Nature walks, cultural experiences, mindful exploration, personal relaxation or simply time to enjoy the destination at your own pace.
18:00 • Sunset Restoration Practice
Meditation, gentle body-based movement and sound relaxation help transition naturally from the experiences of the day toward rest.

07:00 • Shaolin Yi Jin Jing Qigong
We return to Yi Jin Jing for a second practice.
This time, with the basic movements already familiar, we can pay greater attention to coordination, posture, breathing and the quality of each movement.
Rather than simply following the sequence, you begin to experience how the different elements work together.
Repeating the practice helps transform it from something you follow into something your body begins to remember.
08:00 • Sound Relaxation & Meditation
Stillness and sound allow the effects of the morning practice to settle and create a calm transition into the rest of the day.

Having explored Sound, Breath, Movement, Awareness and Aliveness, we now begin connecting them.
You will learn how these elements can be combined according to what you need in the moment: more energy, greater calm, mental clarity, physical release or deeper rest.
The method becomes less about following instructions and more about understanding how to work consciously with your own state.

We return to the Vinyasa sequence from Day 4, allowing familiar movements to become smoother and more intuitive.
With less attention required to remember the sequence, the focus shifts toward the relationship between breath, movement and awareness.
The aim is not to perform more. It is to move with greater ease, control and presence.

10:00 • Workshop: Build Your Personal Self-Regulation Toolkit
We revisit the nervous system tools introduced earlier and move from learning individual techniques to understanding when and how to use them.
What can you do when you feel stressed? When you cannot focus? When your energy drops? When you need to slow down before sleep?
Together, we explore how breath, sound, movement, facial feedback and awareness can be combined into simple personal strategies for different moments of everyday life.
The goal is to leave knowing not only what to practise, but when and why to use each tool.

07:00 • Energy Breath & Morning Activation
Our final morning brings several elements of the retreat together.
We begin with gentle movement to prepare the body, followed by an energizing breath practice designed to progressively engage the respiratory system and increase alertness.
You will explore how different breathing patterns can create different physiological states and learn the important distinction between breathing practices for activation and breathing practices for relaxation and recovery.
We also revisit the relationship between breathing and autonomic regulation, including how slower breathing and extended exhalation can influence pathways associated with parasympathetic activity.
The purpose is practical: to understand that there is no single “correct” way to breathe for every situation. Different moments require different tools.
08:00 • Sound Relaxation & Meditation
Our final sound and meditation practice creates space to integrate the experience of the previous days.

Morning Workshop • Integration, Q&A & Closing Circle
The final workshop brings everything together.
We review the key practices, answer questions and explore how to integrate what you have learned into real life without creating another complicated routine.
You leave with practical tools for movement, breathing, meditation, relaxation and self-regulation that can be used independently at home, at work, while travelling or whenever life becomes demanding.
Use them to energize yourself in the morning, reset during a stressful day, restore focus or slow down before sleep.
The retreat lasts eight days. The skills stay with you for life.
Departure & Transfer
Time to say goodbye and begin the journey home.
Not simply rested, but better equipped to restore yourself again whenever you need it.
A Typical Daily Rhythm
The retreat follows a carefully designed rhythm of practice, learning, exploration and rest.
Morning sessions awaken the body and develop practical skills. Workshops provide understanding and tools you can take home. Daytime experiences reconnect you with nature, culture and the pleasure of simply living. Evening practices gradually bring the body and mind back toward rest.
Exact times may be adjusted according to sunrise and sunset, the destination, weather conditions and the natural rhythm of the group.
What You Take Home
The purpose of the retreat is not to make you dependent on retreats.
It is to help you understand your body and mind better and give you practical ways to influence how you feel.
You leave with a personal toolkit that may include mobility practices, Qigong, yoga, meditation, breathing techniques, relaxation methods and simple approaches to self-regulation.
Use them for five minutes or an hour. At home, at work or while travelling. To energize yourself in the morning, reset during a demanding day or slow down before sleep.
Some of the most powerful tools for your wellbeing are already within you. This retreat teaches you how to use them.
Ocean & Island Experiences in the Maldives
Each day of the retreat includes time to experience the extraordinary nature of the Maldives, both above and below the water.
Staying at Kinbi Private Villa in the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, we will explore turquoise lagoons, coral reefs, sandbanks, uninhabited islands and the rich marine life of the Indian Ocean.
Depending on the day, our experiences may include:
- Coral Reef Snorkeling
- Dolphin Watching
- Turtle & Marine Life Encounters
- Sandbank Trips
- Uninhabited Island Visits
- Island Hopping
- Traditional Fishing
- Sunset Fishing
- Stand-Up Paddling
- Mangrove Exploration
- Sunset Boat Trips
These experiences become part of the retreat itself, combining adventure and connection with nature with mindful swimming, breathwork, meditation and plenty of time to simply relax and enjoy island life.
Seasonal Manta Ray Experience
Baa Atoll is famous for Hanifaru Bay and its seasonal gatherings of manta rays. When the season, weather and sea conditions allow, a manta ray excursion may be arranged as one of the highlights of the retreat.
Wildlife encounters cannot be guaranteed, and the daily program remains flexible so we can choose the best experiences while preserving the balance between practice, exploration and genuine rest.
Where you'll stay
Kinbi Private Villa
You will stay at Kinbi Private Villa, a six-bedroom designer house on a local island in the Baa Atoll — the Maldives' UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, and the only atoll in the country to hold that designation.
The villa is taken by the group alone. Bedrooms open onto planting and a private pool, and the living space is one long room: an open kitchen, a dining table that seats the whole retreat, and a lounge that opens straight out to the water.
With a maximum of eight guests, meals, practice and rest all happen in the same house rather than across a resort — which is what makes the week feel like staying somewhere rather than checking in.
Reserve Your SpotFacilities
- Private pool and sun deck
- Open kitchen and a dining table for the whole group
- Lounge opening onto the pool
- Six bedrooms, twin and double
